A new year... a new start

So I realize that my last post was 9 months ago, and it was an update on my wedding and honeymoon which were now just over a year ago! Man time flies. You would think since I write marketing blog pieces for companies as a side job just for fun that I'd be better at updating my own blog and being somewhat interesting, yet I fail.

Instead of trying to recap the past 9 months, I am going to start with the present and move forward hopefully on a more regular basis.

Pablo is finally in his last year of college!! Yay, only those of you who know me well will understand how incredibly happy and excited I finally am. Dare I say that I might even be somewhere warm next Winter?!? He is currently in the process of applying for internships for the summer months that *fingers crossed* hopefully will turn into a full-time job in December when he graduates. Aside from that, he still works part-time at Chase bank and is a great husband. On a side note, I am trying to get him to eat healthier which is a never ending battle, but hey, a girl has got to try. Also, he enjoys playing with our new toy we got for Christmas from my parents. A beautiful flat screen TV that he loves to watch Prison Break on once I go to bed. He says he does homework... but I think we all know what he really does!

I actually have something fun and exciting to write about. Finally, after graduating college 3 1/2 years ago I have finally found my niche in the job market. I began working at a residential treatment center for teenage boys ages 12-17 back at the beginning of November and I LOVE it!! Seriously, so bummed I didn't tap into this 3 1/2 years ago, oh well, you live and you learn. Every day I deal with some of the greatest people both co-workers and teenage boys alike. Sure they are at the center for some serious problems but I can't help but treat them like my younger brothers. It is so great to see their progress. I am in my element because I am the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Academic Director, or Vice Principal whatever your pick. I've been called all of the above. So not only do I get to interact with great people, it is all academic related. I know I'm nerdy. As a side note, I am continuing with my healthy eating and exercising every day. Found out over Christmas that I have some food allergies so getting used to not being able to eat quesadillas has been hard, but we're hanging in there. On my spare time I enjoy writing marketing pieces and napping.

So in a nutshell things are pretty good for us right now (aside from the fact it is so balmy out during this dead of Winter). Just continuing onward and upward in this lovely thing called life and being an adult. Speaking of being an adult, I cannot believe that I will be turning 25 this year! This is crazy.
