How we met- Pablo's Version

So... here's the scoop. Over the Summer I took a class to certify myself as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), the course was roughly 3 months long. The material that we were reviewing was challenging which caused many sleepless nights and mental cramps, ha! The 3rd of December I had my state practicals to do, talk about stressing out! I felt adequately prepared but of course as humans we psyke ourselves out sometimes too much. The whole week I tried to keep myself calm and focused reviewing all the essential things to A's the test. That evening I took it and I felt great it was over! But, as I drove home I began to realize a few things that I did incorrectly, I was beginning to freak out! I was told that the state was very particular in what they look for to pass a student. That night I went to bed praying I would pass. So, this is where Miss Lauren comes. I work at WellsFargo mainly as a Teller, but I also do a few things with our Personal Bankers on the side. That day I was not fully there mentally, I was exhausted from staying up till 3 am stressing out about the test. Lauren came in around 11am that morning all cute and happy to make a deposit ;) My mental state was just to get the customers in and out the door. I smiled but was really just ready pass out anytime. When it was Lauren's turn to come up I welcomed her to Wells and took her check and practically ignored her for a bit, I know bad but again I was not all there. ha! Towards the end of the transaction I asked her how her day was going and she responded, "Its going great thanks for asking, how is yours?" I do not exactly remember what I said but I am sure I chuckled a bit and said " I am exhausted! I had my state practicals yesterday to become an EMT and I have no idea how I did, the state will send me an e-mail telling me if I passed or failed" and after I said this as Lauren was beginning to leave said to me, "Don't beat yourself up about I am sure you did well" That kind of caught me off guard and made me feel better. I quickly realized that I didn't thank her for coming in so I sort of yelled, "Thanks for coming in Lauren, have a good day! So five minutes go by and I was still doing my thing helping other customers and talking with some of the guys from work, and a co-worker, Brian tells me that I have a message. When I heard this I was like, "I didn't get a text or get a call, I haven't gotten any emails," I had no idea what he talking about. I asked him again what he needed and he handed me a little piece of paper. I had no idea what it could be and of course I would not assume the cute blonde girl would give me her number through the drive through. Oh sure enough it was just that. Lauren tore off the bottom portion of the reciept that had my name on it and she wrote, I quote, " I'm sure you did well!" with her name and number. It took me a minute to remember who she was but when it came i freaked out. This has never happened to me before in my life, I have always been the person that gave my number out to the ladies, so this was defenetly an experience I never wanted to forget! I started to yell, "Dude check this out! The cute short blonde chick just gave me her number!!! NO WAY!!!" Brady one of my co-workers came up to me and began to coach me about what to do, he feels that his mad skills will work for over relationship. ha! I didn't want to rush into calling her or what not, I wanted to play Mr. Suave! I texted her two hours later and I just said something along the lines of "Hey so your a Washington gal huh? This is Pablo from the bank, nice move on the drive up." I didn't hear back from her for over two hours, so finally after four hours of waiting for her to text she responds. After that first text it was all history. We texted from probably 4:30ish or so till like 11pm! She was very fun to talk to and I really wanted to see her in person. I had no idea really what she looked like so that was making me more anxious to see her. Sunday rolled around and we officially got the chance to introduce ourselves. For me I was stoked to see where this would become! Her smile and eyes captured me!

So that is my part of the story. If you would like to know more please, do not be shy, just ask!

How We Met - Lauren's version

So December 4, 2010 was the start of it all. It was just a normal Saturday, and I was out running errands like I typically spend my Saturday mornings being a working woman. I needed to go to the bank to deposit my paycheck (probably the only time I would be grateful for not having direct deposit)! I usually just go through the drive up because let's face it, so much easier. However, as I was pulling up to the bank I had an impression to go inside. I decided hey why not, and went inside. When I walked in I noticed a cute teller that was working, and secretly hoped he'd be the one to help me. Turns out he did! He was pretty quite and I could tell he was exhausted, so being the outgoing person that I am, I asked him what was up. He told me he had just taken his EMT practical test the night before and stayed up most of the night stressing about it and wondering how he did. I told him I was sure he did fine, and to not worry. As I was walking out he was all "have a good day Lauren!" and I had an impression right then and there I should give him my number. Since there were other people inside the bank waiting to be helped, and it would be weird to turn around, walk back over and hand him my number... I continued to walk out and tried to think of some way to give him my number. When I got back into my car, I took my receipt, wrote a little note on it with my number and proceeded to go through the drive-up. I stuck the note into the tube, shot it up, and drove off. Never in a million years did I think he'd ever text or call me. I simply thought it was fun, and followed the prompting.

I continued going about my errands, and then went home and took a nap. When I woke up, I checked my phone, like I always do right when I wake up, and was surprised to find two texts from the cute guy at the bank, "so I see you're a Washington gal, I'm from Seattle too" & "smooth move in the drive-up by the way"! I was like no way! We proceeded to text back and forth for the rest of the afternoon and the rest is history.

My version, it was love at first sight. Simply wonderful.
